Title   Goodbye, Data Shortage Problem: Small Data Analysis powered by Generative AI
AbstractIn data analysis, there is a saying “Garbage in, garbage out,” which means that if you input bad data, you will get bad results. In business, even if it seems like there is a lot of data, there is often not enough clean, ready-to-analyze data, so directly applying well-known data analysis methods often doesn’t lead to good accuracy.
Recently, the powerful capabilities of generative AI have become well-known. It might seem that these models use all the data in the world, but their training data is limited to “data available in the world.” Unavailable and valuable data are stored by each company.
The speaker is working to solve the data shortage problem by combining a company’s valuable data with generative AI to achieve business goals. In this talk, he will introduce the background of data shortage and present his research results, which were motivated by this challenge and published at international conferences ICDE2024 (Data Engineering) and RecSys2024 (Recommender Systems). He graduated from Kyushu University’s Mathematics Department and obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics, and he will also share the interesting aspects of data analysis from his mathematical background.
