TitleFunction Secret Sharing and Its Application to String Search
SummarySecure computation is a technology that performs operations on data while keeping it encrypted. The data is divided and stored across multiple servers, and the servers communicate with each other to process the data. Each server can execute computations without obtaining information about the secret data itself. However, when dealing with large-scale data such as genome sequences, the communication cost becomes very high, leading to performance degradation. One of the technologies known to solve this problem is Function Secret Sharing (FSS). By utilizing FSS, it is possible to achieve communication-efficient secure computation, making it practical to process large-scale data. In this lecture, we will introduce the basics of secure computation and FSS, and then present our research results on a secure string search technology using FSS.
