| Title | Weaving Mathematics and AI into Social Solutions: Insights into Value Creation and AI’s Transformative Power |
| Abstract | In this lecture, we will discuss approaches to industrial and social issues using mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, and AI, focusing on the practical “know-how” and the inherent rewards discovered through hands-on experience in the field. Through specific case studies of value creation, we will re-examine the expected role of mathematics in modern society from the perspective of diverse stakeholders in industry-academia-government collaboration, as well as from the broader viewpoints of sustainability and industrial competitiveness. Finally, we will provide an overview of the innovations in mathematics as a science driven by recent advancements in AI. I will then explore the potential for these developments to lead toward new horizons in “AI for Science” and “AI for Industry,” envisioning the future of this evolving field. |
