| Title | Identifying and solving problems in the media |
| Abstract | Problem-solving in the media is often fluid. It is not easy to estimate deadlines and outputs in advance. The appropriate methodologies depend on characteristics of data being handled: natural language processing (NLP) for text; machine learning and statistical science for access logs in online media and POS data; mathematical optimization for shift scheduling; and the Semantic Web for structuring unstructured data. Those problems are not clearly defined and require knowledge across multiple domains. Therefore, it is essential not only to address problems as they are, but also to solve them in general. This talk will introduce several of our use cases. |
