Kyushu University Joint Graduate School of Mathematics for Innovation

(December 14, 2023 - December 15, 2023) Holding of IMI Industrial Mathematical Statistics Tutorial

Date:September 19, 2023

Information

There is a rapidly growing need for research based on an academic foundation of mathematics, data science, and AI in the social issues of “decarbonization,” “medicine and health,” and “environment and food,” which Kyushu University is promoting. Therefore, the Industrial Mathematics and Statistics Research Division was established at the Institute of Mathematics for Industry (IMI) in April 2022, aiming to form a cross-disciplinary mathematical foundation with the statistical field as its core. This division contribute to the solution of various problems in society, industry, and other fields, as well as to foster young core statistics researchers, while deepening the academic principles of statistics.
A tutorial will be held to especially foster the next generation of engineers who can utilize data science and statistics to solve problems in industry and society.
