On November 26, 2022, for the first time in Kyushu University, the establishment of “The Joint Graduate School of Math for Innovation (JGMI)” was approved as the fundamental organization for the implementation of the Joint Graduate School, and this Graduate School will be established in April 2022. What is needed now, as AI technology and date science are advancing, are human resources who can contribute to the discovery and solution of various problems and create innovations in society, in industry and scientific fields, by transcending academic boundaries, using mathematics, mathematical science and statistics, and using their free thinking and understanding. This Joint Graduate School is a new type of graduate school that is composed of the collaboration of the Graduate School of Mathematics, the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, and the Graduate School of Economics. Its education and research are conducted with co-creation with other disciplines through the participation of faculty members from a variety of specialized fields. We nurture outstanding mathematical modeling professionals who can flourish in a wide range of fields, based on mathematical and statistical skills.
